Rev. D. Gregory Ceres succeeds founding pastor Rev. William E. Daye, who called Ceres to the church as an assistant pastor in 2014. Ceres is a Durham native, graduate of Durham Public Schools, North Carolina Wesleyan College, Duke Divinity School and Eastern University Palmer Theological Seminary. He was installed as pastor of Peace Missionary Baptist on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
Peace Missionary Baptist Church has been a safe haven for me; a wonderful home away from home; a gathering place for good friends and acquaintances but primarily an awe-inspiring fortress to serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
In my way of thinking, Peace has definitely served as that beacon in the time of storm for my family. For many years we trusted and believed in the great leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. W.E. Daye as he led Peace, and now we are being led by another wonderfully capable man of God, Rev. Dr. D. Gregory Ceres. Peace continues to be The “Solid Rock of Christianity” in Durham and we are so proud to be a part of this successful, loving, progressive church family!
I really enjoy the compassion and interaction with my church family and the commitment to Christian growth keeps me engaged and enthused as a longtime member of Peace. Pastor Ceres also does a great job promoting outreach services to members and to the residents of Durham. Peace Missionary Baptist Church is a Church that cares!
