Join us on Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 AM EST for an interactive webinar honoring Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett, a scientist at the forefront of the development of the vaccine, with a featured live Q&A and expert insights from Dr. Nwora Lance Okeke and Dr. Gentzon Hall.
Honoree: Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett, Scientific Lead – Coronavirus Vaccine Program, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Vaccine Research Center (VRC) Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett is currently the scientific lead of the Vaccine Research Center’s Coronavirus Team — the team at the forefront of the development of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In February 2021, Corbett was highlighted in the Time’s “Time 100 Next” list under the category of Innovators, with a profile written by Dr. Anthony Fauci. Dr. Fauci described Corbett as “central to the development of the Moderna mRNA vaccine and the Eli Lilly therapeutic monoclonal antibody that were first to enter clinical trials in the U.S.”
Featured Panelist: Dr. Nwora Lance Okeke is an Infectious Disease Specialist with Duke Health.He treats patients for a wide variety of infectious diseases including HIV, Hepatitis C, and bone infections. Dr. Okeke is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine.
Featured Panelist: Dr. Gentzon Hall is a Leading Researcher and Nephrologist with Duke Health. His research is focused on defining the molecular underpinnings of podocyte injury and dysfunction in nephrotic syndrome (NS), with a primary focus on focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Dr. Hall is a member of Duke’s Molecular Physiology Institute, as well as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Nephrology at Duke University School of Medicine.
