Are you seeking productive activities for your children this summer? Fortunately, there are a variety of fun and creative way to keep your youngsters engaged with Christ – rather than the Xbox or television – during the summer months. Read on for five tips from our church family at Peace Missionary Baptist Church.
Host a Reading Party – Invite friends and family of all ages over to share their favorite parables or Bible verses. Serve refreshments. End in prayer and enjoy an uplifting experience with loved ones.
Make a Maze – All it requires to make a maze in your home or outdoors is yarn and creativity! As children venture along the path you’ve created, explain why we need to stay on God’s path – no matter how hard things may get along the way.
Bake Bible-Inspired Desserts – There are so many delicious ways to taste and see the goodness of the Lord. For instance, one of our favorite fun ways to tell children about the story of Jesus’ burial and resurrection are with Resurrection Rolls. Click Here for the Recipe.
Travel Journaling – There are so many things to be grateful for in our lives, and this exercise is a great way to prove it. Head into you and/or your children’s favorite parts of town – whether it be the mall, the library, or a local park – with a notebook in hand. Then, beginning with the letter “A”, find multiple things that starts with that letter (for instance, A = Apple products, in the mall). Have them write down each item, the role each plays in their lives and why they thank God for it. By summer’s end, they’ll have an A-Z list of gratitude.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) – Vacation Bible School is a ministry outreach program that we host annually to educate children in our community about God.
We welcome children of all ages to enjoy dinner and Christ-centered activities this week (Monday, June 11 – Friday June 15, 2018) at Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Dinner is served at 5:30, and lessons take place from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
